Description
The QC Inspector / Engineer position focuses on monitoring construction and maintenance activities to confirm compliance with Aramco standards and international codes. This role supports piping, welding, and coating operations by reviewing documentation, inspecting workmanship, and validating test results. QC professionals work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and safety teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved without compromising schedules. In large-scale projects, they also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, recommending corrective actions, and promoting best practices across the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
QC Inspectors and Engineers are responsible for conducting routine inspections on piping installations, welding joints, and coating applications. They review material certificates, welding procedure specifications, inspection test plans, and quality records to ensure full traceability. The role includes witnessing non-destructive testing, monitoring surface preparation and coating thickness, and verifying dimensional accuracy of installed components. QC personnel prepare detailed inspection reports, manage punch lists, and coordinate with construction teams to resolve non-conformances. They also participate in client audits, toolbox meetings, and final handovers, ensuring that completed work meets contractual and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Knowledge
Successful candidates must hold Aramco approval with CBT certification and demonstrate strong technical knowledge in piping, welding, or coating disciplines. A solid understanding of industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO is essential, along with experience reading engineering drawings and quality documentation. Practical field experience in oil and gas projects is highly valued, as is familiarity with inspection tools and testing methods. QC professionals should be analytical, organized, and confident in communication, allowing them to coordinate effectively with multicultural teams.
